It aims to represent people interested in researching family history and genealogy related to their Norfolk ancestors. Branches of the Society operate in South Norfolk, Norwich and London. They currently have over 4,000 members〔NFHS, ''AGM Report'', NFHS AGM 2013 Draft report〕 including members from as far afield as Australia, Canada and U.S.A. == History == The NFHS was originally formed in 1968〔NFHS, (History of the Society ), retrieved-2014-04-20〕 as the Norfolk & Norwich Genealogical Society with the aim of publishing information relating to genealogy in Norfolk. Published series of books were colloquially known as the Blue Books.〔NFHS, (Bookstall ) retrieved 2014-04-20〕 In 1996 the Society reformed as the Norfolk Family History Society (NFHS) with the aim of representing the wider interests of members.
